"Shokubunka" meaning food culture in Japanese. This book presents an assortment of illustrated curiosities deriving from the Land of the rising sun.
Its themes include the different region's ingredients, their staple dishes, as well as the legends and history that shaped them. The figure of a fox appearing on the book-jacket symbolizes the "Inari" — a goddess known as the patron and protector of prosperous rice cultivation. The book was shown at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Poland.
